How we research, write, review, and update content across Simple.

    Who writes our content

Content on this site is written by people who work in payments, point-of-sale operations, and small-business technology every day. We do not outsource articles to content farms or publish anonymous roundups.

Every article carries a named author with a linked author profile that explains who they are, what they do at Simple, and how to reach them. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of their work and must stand behind the claims they make.

Before an article is published, a subject-matter expert reviews it for factual correctness, clarity, and usefulness to the reader. If we are not qualified to answer a question, we say so.

    How we research

Our numbers come from three places: published processor rate cards and fee schedules, our own transaction and platform data, and primary sources such as official documentation, direct pricing pages, and verified customer interviews.

When we cite a competitor's pricing, we link directly to the published rate we are using and date the claim. Rates change, so we timestamp comparisons and revisit them when the source changes. We do not rely on scraped directories, unverified forums, or third-party summaries as primary evidence.

Screenshots, data exports, and source links are kept on file so claims can be checked later. If a source is behind a login or no longer public, we note that limitation.

How we handle rate and pricing claims

Our standard card-present rate is a flat 2.19% with no per-transaction fee. Our card-not-present rate is 2.79%. These are the rates we charge for processing through Simple, and we present them plainly.

Any comparison against another provider uses their published standard rate at the time of writing, is dated, and is corrected when that rate changes. We distinguish between list pricing and what a specific merchant may actually pay after volume discounts, custom negotiations, or bundled plans.

We do not hide fees in examples, and we do not use "up to" savings figures without showing the assumptions behind them. If a calculator estimates savings, the inputs and math are visible to the reader.

    Review and updates

Every article is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with this editorial policy before it is published. Pages that mention rates, fees, features, or competitor pricing are revisited whenever those facts change.

Rate-comparison pages and pricing-focused articles carry a "last reviewed" date near the top of the page. When a meaningful update is made, we refresh that date and, if necessary, add a note explaining what changed.

We keep an internal change log for substantive corrections so we can track when and why a claim was updated.

    Corrections

If you believe something on this site is inaccurate, out of date, or misleading, please tell us. You can email hello@simplecommerce.io, call (855) 840-5005, or use our contact form.

We aim to acknowledge correction requests within one business day and to investigate factual claims within two business days. If we confirm an error, we will correct it, update the last-reviewed date, and add a correction note when the change is material.

We do not remove critical feedback or correct competitor pages to make Simple look better. The fix is the fix, and we publish it transparently.

    What we do not do

We do not publish fabricated reviews, testimonials, or case studies. Every quote, result, or merchant story we publish is real, attributed, and used with permission.

We do not write content whose only purpose is to rank in search engines. Every page is intended to answer a real question, explain a real feature, or help a real merchant make a decision.

We do not accept payment, free products, or preferential treatment in exchange for editorial coverage. If we ever have a commercial relationship worth disclosing, we will disclose it clearly.
